The Ethics Institute of South Africa

The Ethics Institute of South Africa

The Ethics Institute of South Africa (EthicSA) is an independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation.

Their mission is to promote and advance ethical practices in South Africa - in the professions, business, and public policy, and among individuals. To this end, they serve as a resource, facilitate ethics initiatives, and form partnerships with private and public institutions, as well as individuals.

The need for moral renewal

The Ethics Institute of South Africa (EthicSA) is an institutional response to a worldwide recognition of the need for moral renewal. South Africa, in particular, experiences an erosion of ethical values in a wide range of institutions and practices.

Through violent crime, fraud, corruption and other unethical practices we pay an enormous price in terms of resources and human suffering, compromising the foundations of civil and political society.

We all need to take individual and collective responsibility for building an ethical future on what is good, right and just. In doing so, we also need to understand and recognise the historical impact of the apartheid era dislocation of people and distortions of social relations. Qualsa is an organisational member of the Ethics Institute of South Africa (EthicSA).

The reasons for being an organisational member:

  • Our membership demonstrates Qualsa's commitment to being an ethical leader in the Healthcare Industry.
  • Our membership reduces ethical risk and vulnerability in the organisation.
  • Our membership sustains Qualsa's reputation and recognition.
  • It raises the ethical standards of our sector of the economy.
  • It encourages Qualsa to meet the standards of King II and global standards for creating an ethical organisational culture.
  • We believe our membership helps to gradually enhance South Africa's international standing in respect of the ethical culture of organisations.
