RESULTS OF THE 2011 TRUSTEE ELECTION

The GEMS 2011 Trustee Election process was conducted from 17 March 2011 to 13 April 2011 and a record high of 113 candidates stood in the election. 

The election process was concluded on 28 June 2011 when the Board of Trustees received the election report from the Elextions Agency and a report from the auditors, PriceWaterhouseCoopers Rakoma JV, that certified the outcome of the election in accordance with GEMS Rule 19.38.6.

The Board, after considering the reports from the Elextions Agency and PriceWaterhouseCoopers Rakoma JV, was satisfied that the election took place in line with the procedure determined by the Board in accordance with the Rules of GEMS and that it was a free and fair election. 

GEMS Rule 19.38.6 provides that the Scheme shall be obliged to inform members of the outcome of the voting within 7 days of receiving the result from the Auditors.
 
The names of the trustees who have been elected by members to serve on the Board for a term of three years are:
a. Ms Christa Brink (re-elected)
b. Dr Andre Ferreira (re-elected)
c. Mr JS Roux
