Managing GP consultations on Sapphire and Beryl

Sipho is registered on the GEMS Sapphire option and he needs to take his daughter, Busi, to the doctor. Because he knows that all Sapphire and Beryl members must visit a service provider on the GEMS Network, Sipho sends an SMS to 33489 to find the nearest GEMS Network GP. He immediately receives an SMS with contact details of a GP just 5km away. 

 To find a Network provider in your town simply:

• Visit the GEMS website at www.gems.gov.za, click on ‘healthcare service providers', then select ‘the GEMS Network' and follow the prompts.
• SMS your member number, the word 'GP', 'Dentist' or 'Pharmacy', followed by the area preferred to 33489, e.g. (1234567, GP, Hillcrest, Pretoria). It is important to use commas. Our service will immediately send you an SMS with the contact details and address of the GEMS Network Provider who is closest to you.
• Call us on 0860 00 4367.
• All GEMS Network Providers will display a GEMS Network logo on their premises.
