Get support on our HIV/AIDS Disease Management Programme (DMP)

The HIV/AIDS DMP offers treatment, care and support for all beneficiaries who are living with HIV/AIDS. We encourage you to enrol on the DMP as soon as possible, preferably from the time of diagnosis. If you are HIV positive, even if you are not taking ARVs yet - you will benefit by enrolling on the DMP. The HIV/AIDS DMP provides the following benefits for both GEMS members and their dependants:

• Regular monitoring of disease progression and response to therapy
• Regular monitoring tests for possible side-effects of treatment
• Ongoing patient support via our Nurse-Line
• Clinical guidelines and telephonic support for doctors
• Help in finding a registered counsellor for emotional support
• Medicine to treat HIV (including drugs to prevent mother-to child transmission and infection after sexual assault or needle
  stick injury) at the most appropriate time
• Treatment to prevent opportunistic infections like certain serious pneumonias and tuberculosis (TB)
