Pharmacies on indirect payment

All GEMS beneficiaries allocated to a pharmacy on the Medicine Provider Network (MPN) must collect their medicine from that particular pharmacy. However, if your allocated pharmacy is placed on indirect payment (which means your pharmacy cannot claim directly from GEMS), you will be promptly informed and re-allocated to another pharmacy.

Should you still prefer to get your medicine from a pharmacy placed on indirect payment, you will have to pay for the medicine in full from your own pocket upfront and then claim a refund from GEMS. To claim you will have to provide the Scheme with receipts as proof of payment. GEMS will then refund you in full, provided all terms and conditions relating to chronic or acute medicine dispensing have been met.
