Dr Vuyo Gqola has years of experience at both private and public healthcare institutions. Her most recent employment was at Medscheme Holdings as a Senior Specialist - GEMS Medical Advisor since 2010. She was appointed as the GEMS Healthcare Management Executive in 2015.
Dr Gqola holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Microbiology from the University of Cape Town and University of KwaZulu-Natal respectively.
She is responsible for managed care services including disease management programmes, tariff negotiations, healthcare provider networks and strategic sourcing.
