More than 150 SABC employees will face disciplinary action for allegedly colluding with medical practitioners to defraud the public broadcaster's medical aid scheme.

The SABC learnt of the alleged activities through its whistle-blowing programme and other reporting mechanisms.

Spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago says the SABC has proof of how the alleged crime was committed, but cannot disclose the information at this stage.

"I don't think we are at the point where we want to do that because it might interfere with the cases that we are having against these people. But all we can says is that we've proof of all the information of how this whole process happened. And we hope to follow all the process first before we divulge everything. And we hope this will send a clear message that we will not tolerate any kind of fraud and corruption," says Kganyago.
