

The preventive care benefit allows for screening tests and can help you and your family stay healthy. These tests may also help reduce your future healthcare costs with early identification of serious illness or disease. It will be paid at the scheme rate per beneficiary, subject to managed care protocols and may be accessed as follows:
Procedure | Frequency, age and gender rules |
| Cholesterol screening | Once a year for all aged 20 years and older |
| Bone densitometry scan | Once a year for females aged 65 years and older |
| Pap smears | Once a year for females aged 12 - 65 years |
| Mammogram | Once a year for females aged 40 years and older |
| Prostate screening | Once a year for males aged 45 - 69 years |
| Faecal occult blood test | Once a year for all aged 50 - 75 years |
| Glucose screening (Glucose tolerance test) | Once a year for all aged 45 years and older |
| Neonatal hypothyroidism | Once per neonatal beneficiary up to 28 days of age |
| Glaucoma screening | Once a year for all aged 40 years and older |
| Influenza vaccination | Once a year for beneficiaries who are 6 months to 5 years old or 65 years and older |
| Pneumococcal vaccination | Once every 5 years for all with a chronic authorisation for Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) |
| HPV vaccination | One course (3 doses) per lifetime for female beneficiaries who are 9 to 14 years of age |
