Your chronic medication at your convenience

Your medication parcel can be delivered to any address of your choice, work or home, or you may choose to collect it at the post office. Delivery is free of charge and takes place between 08h00 and 17h00 on weekdays. An authorised person must be available to sign for the medication if you cannot accept the parcel yourself.

Delivery to your home or work is the most convenient method for you as it saves you time and a trip to the post office. However, should you choose to collect your medication at the post office, you will need to provide the Scheme's chronic designated service provider (DSP), Medipost, with the name and the postal code of the post office where you would like your medication to be delivered. You do not need a post box at a post office to collect your medication. The chronic DSP's courier service has an agreement with the post office to use their parcel counter service throughout the country. Medication sent to the post office must, however, be collected as soon as possible after you receive notification from the DSP that the parcel is available for collection.

You will receive an SMS with a tracking number for the parcel. If you do not have a cell phone or if the SMS is not successfully delivered to your phone, a chronic DSP consultant will contact you with the tracking number. Please ensure that the chronic DSP has your most current contact details on their records. You can contact the chronic DSP on 0860 00 4367 to update your contact details or click here for the Chronic Medication Delivery Amendment form. You, or the person who receives the parcel, may have to produce identification and sign for its receipt at the courier or at the parcel counter of the post office.
