Medical scheme contribution tax credit

As of 1 March 2012 the medical scheme tax rebate system was converted into a credit system. This is according to the Taxation Law Amendment Bill, published on 25 October 2011 and promulgated on 10 January 2012. This is an effort to achieve greater equality in the treatment of medical expenses across income groups.
